However, the Chinese world champion spent over 25 minutes in on his seventh move, falling nearly half an hour behind the Indian prodigy.
Gukesh started with white pieces against Ding Liren. After 13 moves on the board from both players, Gukesh had almost 35 additional minutes on his clock than Ding Liren. However, Ding was a pawn up.
